On the water, we will teach various paddling strokes and interpretation of Malpeque Bay , (Skills such as forward and backward stroke, draw and sweep stroke). Malpeque Bay has a wealth of history through the change of the century. First Nation Native’s settlement, Acadian farmland, British Shipwrecks, Shipbuilding Site, Home of the famous Malpeque Oyster, International Migratory Site with birds nesting on the islands (double crested cormorant,osprey,heron,bald eagle, gulls, kingfisher, swallow, piping-plover, geese, duck and other various songbirds) have been spotted here.
Our destination is kayaking around Ram Island and along the red cliff coastline. The full day tour will complete this tour and then continue on towards other islands. On both the tours we will provide snacks and drinks. (By bringing your own lunch for the full day tour, we can keep the price down). We are very flexible on where we kayak, and it depends on the level of the kayakers in the group and the weather (winds) to where our tour will take us. If you enjoy tranquility and nature, this is the tour for you. Malpeque Bay is a paradise for beginner to advanced kayakers. The water to and around Ram Island is warmer than the Northumberland Strait and is mostly knee-deep to waist level. Our favourite saying is: ‘If you tip, Stand Up!”
For the advanced paddler there are numerous islands with isolated sand dune beaches.
