- Mi’Maq natives paddling in birch bark canoes and fishing for shellfish and fish. The first Nation’s wigwam homes beautifying the coastline.
- 1534, Jacque Cartier sailing into Malpeque Bay before his voyage up the St. Lawrence River.
- European ships sailing into Malpeque Bay (Ancestors of Lucy M. Montgomery settled on the cliffs in the 1700’s)
- French Acadians farming off the lands of Malpeque.
- Malpeque winning the world contest with their famous oysters during the 1800’s
- Shipbuilding Company on Princetown Point(home of Malpeque Bay Kayak Tour Ltd.)
In the 1980s Malpeque Bay was declared on “International Migratory Site” with thousands of waterfowl.

Located in the village of Malpeque is the community’s Keir Memorial Museum
The stone-wall located in front the museum has stones from Little Courtin Island in Malpeque Bay. Little Courtin Island is only visible during low tide. |
